We have an opening for a postdoctoral researcher to develop and apply new molecular dynamics simulation methods for including proton dynamics in complex systems. In particular, we are aiming at unvealing the mechanism by which biological molecular motors convert proton gradients into mechanical work. The proposed developments to achieve this goal will be implemented in GROMACS and we will work closely together with Prof. Berk Hess, at KTH Stockholm. The ideal candidate has a background in the development and application of MD simulation techniques, strong communication skills, and the courage to explore uncharted territory. We offer a 2-year contract with the possibility of an extension upon mutual agreement at the university Jyväskylä, in the hearth of Finland, the happiest country of the world since 2017.
